Because memory is unreliable and progress is invisible over short timeframes.

Do you need a smartwatch?

No. Your phone already contains a GPS receiver and an accelerometer, which is everything required for distance, pace, route and step tracking. A wearable adds continuous heart rate and sleep data, and Trakon will use it if you have one — but nothing is gated behind owning extra hardware.

Frequently asked questions

Is Trakon activity tracking free?
Yes. GPS tracking for running, cycling and walking, workout logging, AI food scanning and progress charts are all included free on iOS and Android.
Does Trakon work without a smartwatch?
Yes. Trakon uses your phone GPS and motion sensors, so no wearable is needed. If you own one, it can supply heart rate data to refine calorie estimates.
Does GPS tracking drain my battery?
GPS is inherently power-hungry, but Trakon batches location updates and reduces polling frequency when you are stationary. A typical one-hour tracked run uses roughly 5–10% battery on a modern phone.
Can I track activities without internet?
Yes. GPS works offline, so activities are recorded normally without a data connection. Route maps and cloud sync complete once you reconnect.
What is Trakon called in the app stores?
The app is currently listed as “DailyCal – Food Calorie Tracker” on both the App Store and Google Play. Use the download links on this site to install the right app.
